Kappa Lambda Psi was founded on April 28, 1980. It was founded by 28 founding sisters with the hopes to be the first sorority to go national since 1916. Together, we shall strive for this goal. To us, Kappa Lambda Psi isn’t just an organization, it’s a way of life.
Founding of the Delta Chapter: The Delta Chapter at Marist College, established in October 1989, was the first sorority to be granted a charter at Marist College.
Philanthropy:American Cancer Society – The sorority participates in Relay for Life each year and fundraises for the event. In 2007, they were within the top ten fundraisers for Marist College.
Local Service Project: New York Blood Services-
Every semester, Kappa Lambda Psi, joined with Alpha Phi Delta national fraternity, organizes an on-campus Blood Drive. Kappa Lambda Psi received a plaque from New York Blood Services in appreciation for their contributions.
Colors: Navy Blue and Grey
Flower: Morning Glory – It opens every morning. The Sisters of Kappa Lambda Psi are open to new ideas and friendships.
Jewel: Diamond – The Diamond is unique, valued, and cherished, as is each sister.
Mascot: Lamb – It represents the sisters’ purity of heart.

Omicron Star – Guides the sisters through life’s endeavors
Candle – Represents the burning flame of knowledge that each sister possesses
